With my extensive collection of Jonas Brothers CDs (not really!) and 2 DVDs (Camp Rock and 3D Concert), I’m happy to say that JONAS is still my favourite TV series. Even though I’ve been asking for Disney Channel to keep it on the air, I’m happy to say that Family Channel Canada has picked up the idea of the series’ cancellation, and gratefully, to many young JONAS fans (like me), they are now airing reruns of it. The 3rd JONAS DVD was supposed to come out earlier this month (it was the one that I was gonna blog about), but for some strange reason, it hasn’t come out yet. So, that means that I’m gonna blog about the 2nd DVD in the series, I HEART JONAS!
You can NOT BELIEVE how hilarious and awesome it is!!! It has 7 episodes from the series, which tell the tale of Joe, and the brothers’ childhood-friend, Stella (played by AKPOV Awards nominee Chelsea Staub from ‘Bratz: The Movie’), realizing slowly- very, very slowly, that they, well, kinda like each other. These episodes are amazing, and they are very funny, but they also make me question the series’ cancellation. Let’s say that some of the main plot points involve Joe being paralyzed by stage fright in a school production of The 3 Musketeers (Total Connection Moment), meeting Queen Elizabeth in some weird costume (a fashion-don’t-even-think-about on my list), trying to perform on national TV with laryngitis (TOO FUNNY!!!!!!!), and doing more crazy but funny things.
It’s kinda awesome to watch Joe and Stella experience these things, and I have to say, it doesn’t really disappoint me in the “Finally!” department. I guess this leads me to write the What I Liked and Didn’t Like section to this DVD review:
What I Liked:
– The songs. Tell Me Why (I think it’s in the 3 Musketeers episode) is AMAZING!!!!!!!
– The series, in general. The TV series is a really awesome one, best-written out of all the Disney Channel shows (next to Good Luck Charlie and Shake It Up)
What I Didn’t Like:
– Waiting so long for the “Finally!” moment to happen. I have nothing to say about this, but why did Joe finally reveal his feelings toward Stella in a future episode, like..I don’t know, IN SEASON 2??????!!!! The final words “Stella, I really like you,” are kinda disappointing. I mean, why wait so long to make the “Finally!” moment, changing the “fictional setting” from New Jersey to L.A for the 2nd season, and just making it seem UNRELATED to I HEART JONAS?
If you haven’t seen the series, I suggest you watch it. If you live in Canada, it airs Saturday and Sunday nights at 2 times: 6:00 for first run episodes, and 8:10 for season 2 episodes, on Family Channel. If you are in the U.S, watch it on Disney Channel (if it’s still airing on Disney Channel).
UPDATE: As of today, ‘JONAS’ and ‘JONAS L.A.’ are cancelled :'( A few months ago, Family Channel did a MASSIVE schedule change, forcing them to remove awesome shows like the one described above, and replace them with reruns of old shows like ‘Zoey 101’. I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS!!!! I mean, who would cancel JONAS L.A.????? It’s awesome! Also, remember that 3rd JONAS DVD that was supposed to come out? Well, I don’t think it will ever be released. I guess I’ll have to download the episodes onto my iPod.
