Music Review: “Take On The World” (CD Single)

I’m pretty sure most of you have heard the news; Disney Channel is coming out with a new show called “Girl Meets World”. OMG!

It’s probably the best thing Disney Channel has come out with in a while. A spinoff to the popular 90’s show, Boy Meets World. While most Disney shows aren’t the greatest anymore in my opinion (like “Dog With A Blog” for example. A tech-savvy talking dog? Like really, who comes up with that stuff??), they seem to be taking more initiative in creating a good series this time around. Promos have started appearing on the channel, and people everywhere are getting pumped for the Summer 2014 release. And once again, I have a feeling that when the show premieres next month, Disney will be raking in the $$, especially because of their latest stars. Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter (who play Riley and Maya on the show, respectively).

These girls don’t only portray best friends on the show, but they are also BFFs in real life (kinda like Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez??), and they both have a passion for acting and music. (Sabrina’s debut EP, “Can’t Blame A Girl For Trying” was released on iTunes recently, and her music has been featured in various Disney projects). So they teamed up to record the theme song for the Disney Channel’s latest potential hit show.

Even though I have mixed emotions about the TV series, the theme song “Take On The World” is surprisingly really good. I heard it for the first time this morning, and downloaded it onto my iTunes account instantly. It’s a super catchy song, with super inspirational lyrics (Face to face with changes, what’s it all about? / Life is crazy, but I know that I can work it out. / Cause I got you to live it with me…), and I love the fact that these co-stars worked together to create something really special and awesome for their upcoming show.

Listen to the song at the link above, and tell me what you think in the comments below. Are you excited for the premiere of Girl Meets World? Do you like the theme song?

Girl Meets World premieres on June 27th, 2014, at 9:45pm on Disney Channel.
