Spring 2015 Makeup Tips (that you can even try NOW)

Now that spring is coming, we’re starting to see more new fashion and beauty trends. Aeropostale, H&M, Ardene, and Forever 21 have all released their new Spring collections, as well as many makeup brands.

Get ready for those warmer days ahead with some pretty makeup that packs a punch! Here’s some inspiration from some of your favorite celebrities, on how to rock Spring 2015’s top makeup trends.

1. Orange-Red Lips

During fall and winter, dark lips were all the rage! However, this spring is all about the bright colors (such as red lips with an orange-y hue). Take a cue from pop singer-songwriter (and fashion icon) Demi Lovato and try the bright red color with extremely long lashes. This look is super flattering on all skin tones!

My favorite bright red lipstick is #67 Miss Peach by Essence Cosmetics.

2. Bronze Skin

Jingle Bell Ball - Day 2

While I’m personally not a fan of this look, it’s true that bronze/golden skin is in this season. To achieve this look (like Taylor Swift), try sweeping bronzer onto your cheeks, along your temple, and on the top of your forehead.

My favorite bronzer is the Color Icon SPF 15 Bronzer by Wet N’ Wild

3. Black Liner

Even if you’re rocking floral dresses and bright crop tops this Spring, you can still wear this edgier look that’s totally popular right now! To achieve this look, use your favorite eyeliner to paint a thin black line all the way around your eyes. Keep the rest of your makeup natural (like Bethany Mota has done in the picture above) to avoid being over-the-top for school.

4. Plum Eyeshadow

Sarah Hyland’s pretty purple eyeshadow is making me dream about prom night! Plum shadow makes your eyes pop– especially if you have brown or green eyes. It’s also the perfect shade if you want to switch up your look this spring. For a subtle day-time look, sweep this color lightly over your eyelids. You can also create a more dramatic look for a night out, by adding more color to the crease.

At the moment, my favorite purple eyeshadow is the Metal Glam eyeshadow in the shade Sparkling Orchids (by Essence Cosmetics)

5. Brown Smokey Eyes

A more subtle version of the classic smokey eye, using brown shadow and liner is all over the spring runways right now– and it’s a look that I’m totally in love with! It’s more natural than black, and totally wearable– even to school. Try it with light pink or nude lips (like Glee star Lea Michele) for a fresh Spring look.

This eyeshadow palette by Essence Cosmetics has all the colors you’ll need, and it even has step-by-step instructions for doing two eyeshadow looks!
