Over the past few years since I started getting into makeup, I’ve been trying different products to figure out what works best for me. Here are my top 10 favorite cosmetics from both drugstore and high-end brands.

This mascara is amazing! It doesn’t clump; it makes your lashes super long (giving the impression that you’re wearing false lashes); and– although it’s not advertised as waterproof– it stays on all day!
I got the chance to try this cult favorite eyeshadow primer last year, when Sephora sent me a free makeup bag filled with samples (I think it was for a Christmas promotion)– and it became one of my favorite makeup products! For some reason, eyeshadow always creases and fades when I wear it… and for a while, I even tried using concealer on my eyelids (as a form of primer). However, this stuff really works to make my eyeshadow last all day! Even my mom– who did my makeup for my graduation photos in January– said that Urban Decay Primer Potion is “like a magnet for eyeshadow!”
Prior to trying this product, I had heard such wonderful things about NYX makeup, especially their Butter Lipstick… and it’s easy to see why they’re so popular! This lipstick applies easily, stays on all day, and– unlike other lipsticks– doesn’t dry out my lips. My favorite shade is “Beach BBQ,” a bright hot pink that is reminiscent of Barbie… although I honestly love all the shades!
For a long time, I used a concealer from Rimmel London that I loved. But the time came when I finally ran out of it and desperately needed a new concealer. So I decided to try this one– and am I ever glad I did! It’s highly pigmented (unlike other concealers, which tend to be sheer), easy to apply, and stays on for the whole day without fading. I would highly recommend it!
I tried a free sample of this brow mascara last year, and fell in love… so I asked for a full-size version for Christmas last year It definitely makes your brows look more defined; and I like that the application is simple (in contrast to some of the drugstore-brand eyebrow products I’ve tried over the years). This is probably one of my “holy grail” makeup products that I’m going to keep buying!
To tell you the truth, I had never worn glitter eyeliner before I tried this. However, I am super happy with this product! It’s excellent quality, applies just like liquid eyeliner, and is very pigmented. Glitter eyeliner isn’t something that I wear every day, but if I want to try a dramatic look for special occasions, this is the product I use
My friend introduced me to this lip color last summer, and it’s become one of my favorites! I love how it applies like a typical gloss, then becomes matte as it dries. The shade I have is “Kisses,” (a dark pinkish-mauve) which is perfect for the upcoming fall season!
Elizabeth Arden is, in my opinion, one of the best cosmetic brands out there– especially when it comes to their lipsticks. Like the name says, this lipstick is very pigmented and doesn’t dry out my lips.
The BabyLips line of tinted lip balms has become a fan favorite of sorts for Maybelline, and their Dr. Rescue line is no exception! These lip balms are formulated with menthol– which is supposed to heal chapped lips (plus it smells like mint)– while providing your lips with a hint of color. I’m not sure if Maybelline still makes these (as the BabyLips line has evolved quite a bit since Dr. Rescue), but it’s my favorite lip product for the fall and winter months!
I bought this eyeliner last month (after struggling to find an eyeliner that worked for me) and I love it! It’s smudge proof/waterproof, and super easy to apply!
